A
Chennai
civil
court
has
granted
an
injunction
till
July
16
restraining
the
makers
of
Thuppaki
from
using
the
title
of
the
AR
Murugadoss
directorial
film
in
any
forms.
The
justice
passed
the
order
on
an
application
filed
by
upcoming
director
Ravi
Devan.
Ravi
Devan,
a
former
associate
of
Kamal
Hassan,
prayed
to
the
court
to
grant
an
interim
injunction
restraining
makers
of
the
film
from
using
the
title
Thuppakki
and
its
logo.
The
director
claims
that
he
had
registered
the
title
Kalla
Thuppakki
in
the
year
2009
itself
and
it's
been
renewed
every
year
and
the
film
production
is
in
process
and
at
the
completion
stage.
At
this
stage,
if
the
said
title
was
given
to
them,
then
definitely
he
will
be
put
to
secure
loss
and
hardship.
Upon
hearing
his
request,
the
court
has
granted
the
interim
injunction
till
16th
July
and
the
notice
to
be
given
to
the
makers
of
Thuppakki.
However,
the
movie
directed
by
AR
Murugadoss
stars
energetic
Vijay
and
dazzling
Kajal
Aggarwal,
is
expected
to
hit
the
screens
for
Independence
Day.

According
to
the
practise...
Whenever
a
film
producer
seeks
to
register
a
title,
Film
Chamber
and
Producers
Council
cross
check
from
their
record
to
ascertain
that
the
title
sought
for
by
the
producer
has
not
been
already
registered
by
any
other
producer.
In
case
the
title
is
already
registered
by
any
other
producer,
the
same
title
is
not
allowed
to
be
registered
even
if
the
title
includes
any
prefix
or
suffix.
