By Prakash Upadhyaya
Pooja
Hegde,
who
has
made
her
debut
in
Mugamoodi,
has
a
reason
to
be
happy
as
her
debut
movie
is
getting
good
reviews
for
her
performance.
The
Mumbai-based
girl
spoke
to
Prakash
Upadhyaya
from
Oneindia
amidst
her
packed-promotional
activities.
Here
are
excerpts
from
the
interview:
How
did
you
land
in
this
project?
I
have
been
getting
offers
for
past
three
years
from
Telugu,
Tamil
and
Hindi.
At
that
time,
I
was
not
interested
in
movies
and
said
no
to
all
of
them.
Then
one
of
my
friends
sent
my
pictures
to
somebody
who
in
turn
sent
it
to
someone
else
and
finally
it
reached
the
makers
of
Mugamoodi.
I
heard
that
when
Mysskin
saw
my
snaps,
he
absolutely
loved
it
because
he
was
looking
for
someone
like
me.
Later,
I
was
asked
to
come
to
Chennai
and
I
met
Mysskin,
everything
just
got
clicked.
What
was
your
first
reaction
when
you
heard
that
you're
starring
opposite
Jeeva,
an
established
actor
in
Tamil?
I
was
born
and
brought
up
in
Mumbai.
In
Mumbai,
we
don't
watch
much
of
Tamil
movies
and
at
that
time
I
was
not
aware
of
Jeeva.
The
main
reason
why
I
accepted
this
was
for
UTV
as
it
is
a
popular
banner
in
India.
I
did
not
know
who
was
Jeeva.
Later,
I
spoke
to
him
and
watched
his
movies.
Did
you
find
it
difficult
to
pick
up
the
Tamil
language?
Initially,
it
was
difficult
but
I
think
Tamil
and
my
mother
tongue
Tulu
are
somewhat
similar
and
there
are
a
lot
of
familiar
words.
So,
it
was
easier
for
me
to
pick
up
the
language.
People
in
the
sets
helped
me
out
with
pronunciation.
I
was
writing
the
dialogues
in
English
and
recording
the
same
to
get
it
right.
I
also
memorized
which
made
it
easy.
I
thoroughly
enjoyed
the
process.
How
was
it
working
with
Jeeva?
Jeeva
is
a
very
nice
person.
He
is
a
down-to-earth
actor
and
he
is
very
patient.
Sometimes,
a
shot
does
not
come
easily
but
he
used
to
wait
and
help
me
out.
He
is
very
understanding
and
made
me
comfortable,
otherwise,
it
would
have
been
very
difficult
for
any
newcomer
to
perform
if
they
find
the
atmosphere
is
unfriendly.
That's
why
I
am
grateful
that
I
worked
with
a
star
like
Jeeva.
Mysskin
is
known
as
a
demanding
taskmaster.
Did
you
have
a
hard
time
satisfying
him
with
your
performance?
(Laughs)
Actually,
it
was
the
other
way
around.
I
tend
to
be
harsh
on
myself.
If
I
do
a
scene
and
look
at
it
in
the
monitor,
I
believed
that
it
could
have
been
a
lot
better,
but
Mysskin
used
to
be
very
happy
with
the
scene.
He
was
trying
to
convince
me
that
I
have
done
a
good
job.
Nonetheless,
I
was
trying
my
best
to
give
a
better
shot
every
time.
Have
offers
started
coming
your
way?
Yes,
offers
have
been
coming
even
before
I
signed
Mugamoodi.
I
am
getting
offers
from
Tamil
and
Telugu
but
I
am
waiting
for
a
right
script
and
yet
to
sign
any
film.
Are
you
open
for
other
industries?
I
am
open
for
all
industries.
What
kind
of
roles
you
would
like
to
do
in
future?
Right
now,
I
want
to
try
my
hands
on
everything
and
make
myself
a
better
actress
and
wish
to
do
all
kind
of
roles.
Who
is
your
role
model?
When
it
comes
to
acting,
it
is
Madhuri
Dixit.
She
is
the
perfect
woman.
I
admire
her
a
lot
for
her
dancing
and
acting
abilities.
