Successful
South
songs
have
often
attracted
Bollywood
filmmakers
and
made
them
take
inspiration
from
it.
Be
it
movies
or
tracks,
the
Hindi
film
industry
never
loses
out
an
opportunity
to
take
the
essence
to
cater
the
large
audience.
Now,
a
popular
track
of
Kamal
Hassan
has
inspired
Rani
Mukherjee's
upcoming
Aiyya.
The
buzz
says
that
'Dreamum
Wakeupm'
track
from
Aiyya
has
taken
the
inspiration
from
Kamal
Hassan's
cult
classic
song
of
80s.
The
song
is
shot
on
Rani
Mukherjee
and
South
actor
Prithviraj,
who
is
basically
a
Malayalam
actor.
Salim
Merchant
has
choreographed
the
number.
It
was
officially
released
on
Thursday
(September
13),
by
the
makers
of
the
movie.
However,
it
can
be
noted
that
Rani
had
earlier
worked
with
Kamal
in
Hey
Ram.
The
funky
track
is
shot
like
a
typical
South
number.
It
is
also
interesting
to
note
that
both
the
songs
and
the
steps
are
inspired
by
the
cult
classic
song
of
Kamal
Hassan.
It
was
shot
at
Ramoji
Rao
Film
City,
Hyderabad
and
it
took
two
days
to
complete.
The
movie
is
about
the
love
story
of
a
Marathi
girl
and
a
Tamil
guy.
It
may
be
recalled
that
in
the
recent
times,
Vijay's
'Appadi
podu...'
from
Ghilli,
and
'Ringa
ringa'
from
Telugu
Arya
2
are
the
two
popular
songs
that
were
remade
in
Bollywood.
