Ravi K Chandran forays into direction

After producing blockbusters like Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa starring STR, Ko featuring Jeeva and helmed by KV Anand, Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal with Atharva as hero, the famed production house RS Infotainments is all set to start their next, a big-budget venture.

The movie marks the foray of ace cinematographer Ravi K Chandran into direction. He is a multiple award winning cinematographer and the most sought after cameraman in Bollywood as well as in South India. Now, he is all set to direct the film that will feature energetic Jeeva in the lead role.

Ravi K Chandran has worked with leading Indian filmmakers like Karan Johar, Aditya Chopra, Farhan Akthar, Sanjay Leela Banshali, Mani Ratnam, Priyadarshan, Shankar, Rajiv Menon and AR Murugadoss.

Having made his mark with Malayalam films in 1990s, he shot to fame in the national level with films like Virasat, Dil Chatha Hai, Koi Mil Gaya, Yuva, Black, Paheli, Saawariya, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Ghajini, My Name Is Khan and Anjaana Anjaani in Bollywood.

In Tamil, Aayitha Ezhuthu, Minsaara Kanavu, Kandukondain Kandukondain, Kannathil Muthamittal and Boys are a few notable films of him. His last releases include Agneepath in Hindi and 7aam Arivu in Tamil.

His Tamil directorial venture to be produced by RS Infotainment has Oscar winner Resul Pookutty donning the mantle of sound engineer. Multiple national winners like production designer Sabu Cyril and editor Sreekar Prasad are also part of the movie. The other cast is yet to be finalised.
