The four-month title drama of Thuppakki and Kallathuppakki has finally come to an end with both the parties deciding to have a conditional compromise. The makers of Kallathuppakki have withdrawn the case, thereby giving relief to the bosses of the Vijay's film.
Sources said, "Thuppakki and Kallathuppakki makers have now solved the issue. They have mutually agreed on several terms and that made latter to withdraw the case. As a result, Vijay's movie can retain the title, Thuppakki and the film has cleared the hurdle."
Earlier, Ravi Devan, a former associate of Kamal Hassan, approached the court and brought an interim injunction restraining makers of Thuppakki from using the title and its logo in June. The director had accused that he had registered the title Kallathuppakki in the year 2009 and it was renewed every year.
As his film was on the verge of completion, if the title, Thuppakki was given to them, then definitely the makers of Kallathuppakki would be put to secure loss and hardship. Having heard his plea, the court had quite a lot hearings on the issue but delayed the judgement.
However, now that the case is withdrawn, Thuppakki starring Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal can have the audio release on October 11 and release the movie, which is directed by AR Murugadoss, for Diwali.
