South actress Trisha Krishnan took up acting after having a successful career in modelling. The actress donned the grease paint in Praveen Kanth's Jodi, where she was seen in the role of Simran's friend. But her first movie to release as a lead actress was Ameer Sultan's Mounam Pesiyadhe. The film was released on December 13, 2002. Though the film opened up to mixed reviews, her performance was noticed by critics and audience that paved way for the beginning of a star.
The actress, after acting in a few films, registered a blockbuster to her name. Hari's Saamy starring Vikram was her first superhit film, which bagged a series of films to her kitty. In 2004, Trisha Krishnan expanded her market by acting in Telugu film Varsham, which became a biggest hit of the year. This made her a popular face of South Indian films and won lot of accolades in Telugu film industry. In the later year, she delivered blockbuster again in Vijay starrer Ghilli.
In the next few years, Trisha Krishnan, who landed in several controversies, acted in a couple of regular masala flicks Thirupaachi, Aaru, etc. In 2005, her position in Telugu films got better with her third film in Tollywood Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana winning praises from all quarters for the role of a village girl. Her Telugu films like Stalin with Megastar Chiranjeevi, Athadu with Mahesh Babu, Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule with Venkatesh, Bujjigadu with Prabhas, King starrer Nagarjuna became hits in Tollywood in the following years.

Whereas, Ajith Kumar starrer Kireedam, and Abhiyum Naanum made her to be a successful face in Tamil films. The actress also gave a couple of flops in Kollywood.

After two years, Trisha Krishnan came up with a brilliant performance in Tamil with Gautham Menon's Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa starring Simbu. In 2010, the actress also made her debut in Bollywood with Akshay Kumar's Khatta Meetha.

But her Bollywood career did not last long as her debut film bombed at the Box Office. As a result, Trisha decided to concentrate on South film rather than B-town.

Later, Trisha Krishnan tasted success in Ajith Kumar's Mankatha followed by Telugu films Bodyguard, and Dammu. Now, the actress is busy with multiple projects like Samar, Boologam and Endrendrum Punnagai.
