It
seems
the
news
on
Vetrimaran's
Vada
Chennai
refuses
to
die,
as
the
film
has
continued
to
hit
the
headlines
despite
being
in
cold
storage
for
over
a
year
now.
Of
late,
there
were
buzz
that
the
film
was
put
on
the
back
burner,
as
the
director
went
ahead
with
another
project
featuring
Dhanush.
But
Vetri
has
denied
it
claiming
that
the
project
has
not
been
dropped.
Speaking
to
a
daily,
Vetrimaran
has
said
that
he
would
do
Vada
Chennai
with
Silambarasan
aka
Simbu
in
the
lead.
The
filmmaker
claims
that
he
is
currently
busy
writing
script
for
Dhanush's
next
project
and
it
is
an
entirely
different
kind
of
story.
The
upcoming
project
will
take
off
in
October,
which
means
the
delayed
film
is
pushed
for
at
least
next
12
months.
Recently,
Dhayanidhi,
who
was
supposed
to
produce
the
film,
announced,
“Due
to
unavoidable
reasons
we
are
postponing
the
shoot
of
Vada
Chennai.
In
the
meantime,
Cloud
Nine
Movies
joins
with
the
magic
combo
of
Vetrimaaran
and
Dhanush...
Hoping
to
produce
another
awesome
movie...”
The
delay
of
Vada
Chennai
was
largely
put
on
Silambarasan,
who
left
to
the
US
for
his
international
album
Love
Anthem,
thereby
making
the
makers
of
the
film
to
wait
for
his
arrival.
Adding
to
that
Rana
Daggubati's
decision
to
opt
out
of
the
film
came
as
a
blow
for
the
film.
