Vijay's grandmother dies of heart attack

Vijay"s grandmother and singer Lalitha Neelakandan (80) died of heart attack on Tuesday (February 14) afternoon. She suffered a cardiac attack before breathing her last at a private hospital in Chennai.

Lalitha Neelakandan, who was a trained classical singer, is survived by two daughters, Shobha Chandrasekar (Vijay's mother), Sheela (Vikranth's mother), and two sons SN Surendar and SN Sundar, who are also playback singers. She was staying at her son-in-law and Vijay's father SA Chandrasekhar's residence before suffering the heart attack.

Her last rites were performed at St Theresa"s church and she was buried at Kilpauk, claim reports.

On the professional front, Vijay has two big movies like AR Murugadoss' Thupaki and Gautham Menon's Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru in his hands.
