Vijay's
Thuppakki
had
invited
troubles
earlier
when
the
posters
of
the
film
were
released.
Ilayathalapathy's
smoking
pictures
had
drawn
sharp
criticism
from
various
quarters.
Now,
the
film
has
landed
in
a
fresh
controversy
over
the
usage
of
the
title
of
the
movie.
An
upcoming
director
has
claimed
that
he
registered
Kalla
Thuppakki
title
for
his
film
a
few
years
ago
and
using
the
similar
title
is
against
the
rules
of
the
Film
Chamber.
Ravi
Devan,
a
former
associate
of
Kamal
Hassan,
has
claimed
that
he
registered
Kalla
Thuppakki
way
back
in
2009
and
since
then
he
has
been
renewing
it.
Currently,
his
movie
is
in
shooting
stage
and
wants
to
release
it
this
year
itself.
But
as
the
Vijay's
film
title
is
similar
to
his
film
name,
he
wants
the
makers
of
Thuppakki
to
change
its
title,
which
could
benefit
both
the
movies
and
also
avoids
confusions.
He
also
alleges
that
the
first
look
has
a
resemblance
with
the
first
look
of
his
film
He
further
adds
that
he
has
filed
a
complaint
at
Directors
Union,
Producers'
Council
and
Film
Chamber
but
nothing
has
helped
his
cause,
as
Vijay's
father
SA
Chandrasekhar
holds
an
important
position
in
the
Film
Chamber,
he
has
not
got
justice.
However,
he
is
taking
the
issue
to
court
and
ready
to
fight
for
the
justice.
Thuppakki
directed
by
AR
Murugadoss
stars
energetic
Vijay
and
dazzling
Kajal
Aggarwal
in
the
leads.
The
movie
will
hit
the
screens
for
Independence
Day.
