Yes, there are rumours doing the rounds that he has hiked the price, but the shocking point of the story is that he has reportedly increased his remuneration after agreeing for a specific amount.
Rumour mills say that Ajith Kumar agreed to act in the movie, which is called by the name Valai, saying that remuneration was secondary to him and he would take whatever he was offered. Producer AM Rathnam had offered him some amount and Thala had accepted it. The actor was also paid half of the remuneration after the completion of the first schedule of the shooting.
By the end of the second schedule, the producer cleared the amount of the actor and settled his due money. In the mean time, the hype around the film and the combo of Ajith-Vishnuvardhan-Nayantara, which had created blockbuster in Billa, generated a lot of buzz in trade circle. It is well-known that Ajith Kumar and AM Rathnam were supposed to work in a film before, but the project was shelved after their fallout over their differed stand on a particular issue related to the Tamil films. However, they decided to move and teamed up for the forthcoming movie. It was reported that the filmmaker had paid Rs 15 crore for the Mankatha star to act in the movie.
