Alex Pandian Karthi becomes father of a baby girl

It's a festive mood in Sivakumar's family as his son Karthi has welcomed a new member to their family. Well, the Paruthiveeran star, whose Alex Pandian is being released today (January 11), has become the proud father of a baby girl.

Venkat Prabhu, who is directing Karthi in forthcoming Biriyani, was the first person to break the news. The director revealed the news on social networking site Twitter. He retweeted Studio Greeen's Prabhu post which read, "Today 11-1-2013 Karthi & Ranjini blessed with girl baby. Both mom & daughter are fine. Normal delivery."

Soon after the retweet, the director congratulated the couple, "Actor Karthi becomes dad!! Congrats bro!! It's a gal baby!!!" It is well-known that Karthi's brother Surya and Jyothika are blessed with two babies - Diya and Dev. However, Karthi married Ranjani Chinnasamy, an English literature graduate, on July 3.
