Ajith Kumar's Arrambam completed its 25 days run at major cine halls in Tamil Nadu recently. The movie, which was released on October 31, has remained on top at the Box Office despite facing competition from many Kollywood flicks. Indeed, it has become the highest-grossing movie of 2013.
Arrambam got a wonderful opening with positive reviews and good word-of-mouth working in its favour. On the release day, it raked in Rs 8.5 crores (approximately) at Tamil Nadu Box Office with multiplexes dedicating huge number of screens for the Ajith Kumar's movie. Its collection remained good almost for the next two days as there were no new releases.
But in the next few days, Karthi's All in All Azhagu Raja and Vishal Krishna's Pandia Nadu slowed down the collection of Arrambam. Traders say that the collections dipped by 8-10 percent due to the new releases and it did not affect the movie in large. Even Hindi movie Krrish 3 did not have an impact on the collection of Ajith Kumar's movie.
Arrambam ended the first weekend by collecting around Rs 22 crores (gross) in the first weekend. Whereas in the international circuit, the movie collected around Rs 11 crores in the first week (not weekend). Continue reading the Area Wise Collection on the slideshow...
