Biriyani Team Meets CB-CID Over Song Leakage

By Ians English

Following the illegal release of songs from upcoming Tamil black-comedy thriller Biriyani, members from the film's unit are set to meet Crime Branch - Criminal Investigation Department (CB-CID) officials Monday to press for immediate action against those responsible for the leak.

The audio was leaked online Aug 16, two weeks ahead of its official launch slated for Aug 31. Biriyani marks the 100th album of composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, and he is extremely upset over the leak of the songs online.

Yuvan tweeted, "Upset about this, but good to see where the worlds heading, whatever's meant to be will be. But piracy is wrong."

Following the issue, Director Venkat Prabhu tweeted, "It's really sad and unfortunate biriyani tracks are leaked on net!! We ve been trying to stop it from morning!! But people love piracy!"

After the song leakage issue, few unknown sources said that this is the publicity stunt from the crew and speculated this is done intentionally.

"On Monday, August 19, actor Karthi Sivakumar, music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, director Venkat Prabhu and producer Gnanavel Raja will meet the officers at CB-CID office regarding Biriyani songs leak," said a statement.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, Biriyani also features Hansika Motwani, Ramki, Premgi Amaren, Nassar and Jayaprakash in important roles. The movie is produced by Studio Green, it is slated to release Sep 6 worldwide.
