Ajith Kumar's Arrambam has emerged as the biggest winner at the Tamil Nadu Box Office this Diwali. Despite facing huge competition, the Tamil movie has managed to win the race with the collections of the flick setting new records. Indeed, the hype clipped the wings of other big releases Krrish 3 and Pandiya Nadu in the state.
While the biggest gainer during the festival in Tamil Nadu is Arrambam, the smallest gainer is Hindi movie Krrish 3. The Hrithik Roshan starrer movie could not get maximum screens due to Tamil releases like Arrambam and All in All Azhagu Raja in Tamil Nadu. But it is not the same case in Andhra Pradesh, as the Hindi flick did wonderful business in the first week.
Trade analyst Trinath says, "I don't remember any dubbed Hindi film collecting Rs 14.53 crore in its first week in AP and TN. The collection was better in Andhra because the film had a solo release, while in Tamil Nadu it had limited theatrical release due to the release of three Tamil films."
In Tamil Nadu, Krrish 3 could only get just above 60 screens for its release. Though there was a good craze to watch the Hrithik's movie, theatre owners could not meet the demand. Continue reading the story on the slideshow...
