Dhanush's Mariyaan audio rights acquired by Sony

Sony Music has bagged the audio rights of yet another big Tamil film. Well, the audio company has acquired the rights of forthcoming Tamil film Mariyaan starring Dhanush.

Confirming the news, Ashok Parwani, head south, Sony Music Entertainment, said, "We are privileged to join hands with the Mariyaan team and are delighted to launch AR Rahman's musical work. The film today is much talked about and we are confident the music will play a pivotal role n the film."

Directed by Bharat Bala, Mariyaan narrates the story of a site worker, who escapes from treacherous conditions to find freedom. Oscar winning composer AR Rahman has composed music for the movie.

Recently, the first promo of Mariyaan was released on YouTube and it got more than 2 lakh hits in just 48 hours. It was revealed on internet after the first look was officially released for Holi last month.

Mariyaan stars Dhanush and Parvathi Menon in the lead roles and Appukutty and Salim Kumar, Vinayagam, Jagan, Ankur Vikal and Uma Riaz are in the cast. The film is produced by Aascar Ravichandran and internationally renowned cinematographer Marc Koninckx is handling the camera.
