Bollywood actress Jiah Khan, who committed suicide on Monday (June 3) at her residence in Mumbai, shot to fame with our own AR Murugadoss' 2008 blockbuster film Ghajini. Though she had earned rave reviews for her first Hindi film Nishabd directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the big break came with the Aamir Khan starrer film Ghajini.
Ghajini would be the best film, in terms of collections, in Jiah Khan's short career. She played the second fiddle in the Hindi film which was played by Nayantara in the original. It was a difficult job for AR Murugadoss back then to select a perfect face for the role, as Nayan's character was well-appreciated by media and fans down South.

The underlining point was that Nayantara was a popular name and had no qualms to play the second fiddle as it was a challenging role. The South actress came up with wonderful performance and won accolades. But Jiah Khan was a new face and it was believed that a newcomer would find it difficult to do justice to the role famously made by Nayan.
