Kamal Hassan seems to be walking on a tightrope again. His plans of releasing his superhit Vishwroopam on DTH was severely criticised earlier this year and he was not allowed to go ahead with his idea. Now, the actor has opened on it again as he has said that the sequel to Vishwaroopam would be released on DTH.
The actor-turned-director is currently in Bangalore to attend a meeting of FICCI's (Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry) Frames Conclave. Kamal Hassan, who is the chairman of the media and entertainment conclave, has revealed about his DTH plans on Sunday (September 29).
Speaking at the event, Kamal Hassan claimed that Vishwaroopam 2 will have a DTH premiere. He says that people are rejecting his idea here. The Unviersal star argues that people go to resturants even though they have kitchen at home!
"The TV premiere of a film is a step into the future. The idea was to have one premiere on TV at a premium price. It would not only get people to watch the film at home, but also drive them to watch the film on the big screen. But there are too many people here opposing it. Everybody has a kitchen at home, why then are so many restaurants surviving?" The Times of India quotes the actor as saying.
