Mani
Ratnam's
Kadal
has
suffered
a
huge
loss
at
Box
Office.
The
film
acquired
by
the
Gemini
Film
Circuit
has
failed
to
keep
the
cash
registers
ringing.
To
add
salt
to
the
injury,
now
distributors
are
pressing
on
the
director
to
compensate
for
the
losses.
A
few
days
ago,
around
fifty
members,
who
had
taken
the
theatrical
rights
of
Kadal
for
various
regions,
protested
in
front
of
Madras
Talkies
office
and
demanded
for
the
compensation.
The
protestors
said
that
they
have
suffered
huge
losses,
as
the
film
has
failed
to
impress
the
audience.
They
paid
huge
amount
taking
the
brand
Mani
Ratnam
into
the
consideration.
But
as
the
film
got
thumbs
down
from
critics
and
audience,
the
movie
has
disappeared
from
many
theatres.
Adding
to
that
the
release
of
Vishwaroopam
last
week
in
Tamil
Nadu
has
badly
affected
Kadal,
which
was
released
on
February
1.
However,
it
is
still
unclear
whether
Mani
Ratnam,
who
had
earlier
paid
compensation
for
the
losses,
will
do
the
same
this
time.
Mani
Ratnam's
Kadal
is
a
romantic
drama,
which
stars
Gautham
Karthik,
Thulasi
Nair,
Arvind
Swamy
and
Arjun
Sarja
in
the
lead
roles.
