Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, who is returning to Tamil films with forthcoming movie Jilla, has been paid a fancy amount to star in the Illayathalapathy Vijay's flick. Indeed, he has got the highest-ever remuneration for the forthcoming film.
According to reports, Mohanlal has acquired the distribution rights of Jilla of Kerala region. He has bought the rights as his salary. It is said that the rights is worth Rs 3.5-4 crores. The deal has been done after a careful negotiation and in the end, the makers of the film were happy with the outcome.
Mohanlal has played the role of Illayathalapathy Vijay and Niveda Thomas' father in Jilla. He has completed his portions of shoot and looking forward for the release of the flick. The Malayalam superstar will be promoting the movie in Chennai and Kerala from January.
Talking about Vijay, Mohanlal had earlier said that Vijay is the boy-next-door to him. He also had said that the Illayathalapathy Vijay is an endearing human being for which he loves the Tamil actor.
Jilla is an action-thriller directed by newcomer Nesan. Kajal Aggarwal plays the female lead in the flick. The Tamil film, which is produced by RB Chaudhary, will hit the screens for Pongal.
