American rapper Akon made his debut in Indian films with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan's Ra.One. His track 'Chammak challo...' became one of the biggest hit in 2011. Since then, many filmmakers from Bollywood, Tamil, Kannada and Telugu had tried to rope him in but met with no success. But our own Silambarasan aka STR alias Simbu, who has been in talks with the international singer for a couple of months, managed to bring him into the Kollywood for his 'Love Anthem'.
Yes, Akon has lent his voice for the album and will also appear in the video. He came to Chennai a few days ago. The recording was started on Sunday (May 5). Simbu tweeted, "Gonna start recording... need all ur blessings and love :)" The shooting of the song was started on Monday and they have successfully wrapped it in one day.
STR tweeted, "So finally "Love anthem" music video shooting starts :) I thank each and everyone for the love and support :) God bless :) Spread love:)" The actor kept updating about the developments on Twitter all through the day.
