The much-hyped Singam 2 audio was launched on Sunday (June 2) at Chennai Trade Center. The event was supposed to be attended by Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and Kannada actor Sudeep of Naan Ee fame. But the former skipped the event due to some reasons.
Kiccha Sudeep along with Karthi and Lingusamy released the music of Singam 2. Prior to the audio launch, the Singam 2 team met the press and opened up on the film.
Speaking at the occasion, Surya said that even though magic tricks are merely illusions, what differentiates one magic trick from the other is the way it's done. Likewise, films too are like magic tricks, and what differentiates a good film from a bad one is the way it's presented.
"Today, each film needs to be different from the other because cinema is like magic tricks, and no two magic tricks can bear any similarities. If films and magic tricks are not done differently, then the outcome of both is likely to be disappointing," Surya told reporters while pointing out that Singam and Singam 2 are different from each other. Nassar, director Rajesh, Karthi, Arun Vijay, Vivek, Sumithra, Devi Sri Prasad, Dhananjayan Govind, Vijay Kumar, Sanchita Shetty, lyricist Viveka and others were present at the audio launch function of Singam 2.

Surya doesn't rule out donning khaki for the third instalment of the film. He said, "I would love to do the third part of Singam provided my director has the patience and time to work again."

"The excitement with with which we have worked for this film has given me the confidence to work again if there is a third instalment in the offing," Surya told reporters here.

"We spent nearly eight months on this project and, therefore, time becomes crucial if we are planning to collaborate for the next part. Director Hari is already committed to his next project, so am I. If time permits, we may return soon," he added.

The film also features Anushka Shetty, Hansika Motwani, Nassar, Vijayakumar, Santhanam, Vivek and Anjali, among others, in important roles.

Surya returns as a righteous young cop in Singam 2, which is the sequel to Tamil blockbuster Singam. Produced by Prince Pictures, the film has music by Devi Sri Prasad.

The film is scheduled to release June 14. The Telugu version will also hit the screens simultaneously.
