Prabhu Deva has irked a Tamil association for associating himself with Jacqueline Fernandez, a Sri Lankan based actress. The director has roped the actress for his forthcoming Hindi movie Ramaiya Vastavaiya, a remake of Kollywood movie Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum.
Hindi Makkal Katchi (HMK), a political organisation of Tamil Nadu, has raised objection over the inclusion of Jacqueline Fernandez in the movie Ramaiya Vastavaiya. According to the outfit, being a Tamilain, the dancer-turned-director should not have roped in a Sri Lankan actress considering the ongoing tension between Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka.
The organisation has accused Prabhu Deva of being insensitive towards Tamilians. HMK believes that when Tamil groups are calling for a ban on trades between India and Sri Lanka over the genocide issue, Prabhu Deva is casting Jacqueline Fernandez in his Hindi film Ramaiya Vastavaiya that has to be criticised.
It has to be noted that in the ongoing IPL, Sri Lankan cricketers and match officials have been asked not to be part of the matches played in Chennai considering the growing tensions in the state over the genocide issue. Continue reading the story on the slideshow...

Jacqueline Fernandez entered Indian films in 2009 with Aladin. But it was Murder 2 and Housefull 2 that got her huge recognition.
Shruti In Ramaiya Vastavaiya
Ramaiya Vastavaiya features Girish Kumar, who will be reprising the role played by Jayam Ravi in the Tamil version, and our own Shruti Hassan in the character played by Trisha Krishnan in the original version.
