Rajinikanth's photo-realistic looks in Kochadaiyaan has hit the bull's eye with the superstar's stylish avatars drawing the huge attention of audience. But many do not know that an ace designer from Bollywood had worked hard on the looks of namma Rajini.
Well, it is none other than well-known Neeta Lulla, who has
designed the costumes for Rajinikanth starrer
Kochadaiyaan. She has worked on each and every character
in the movie. Director and the daughter of the superstar, Soundarya
Ashwin has praised the designer to heavens.
Soundarya Ashwin said that Neeta Lulla has done an extraordinary
job. The designer has taken care of every small details on the
costume design to give a realistic look to the characters and it is
In a press release, the director said, "Neeta has done an
outstanding job on the costumes for Kochadaiyaan. The
details in the armour and the weaponised look of the costumes
really creates an impact. The photo-realistic performance capture
technology used in the film is extremely advanced and the work done
on the costumes really shines through."

20-25 Costumes Selected
Around 20-25 costumes were zeroed in on out of 150 costumes,
which were designed on paper.
A range of 20 to 30 looks were designed by Neeta Lulla. She also
created the armour suit along with the costumes of the supporting
cast of Kochadaiyaan. She says it was "totally wonderful" to associate with the project.
"Being a part of Kochadaiyaan is definitely a milestone
in my career. I think the project is larger than life for two
aspects - one being Rajini sir and the other being that it is a
photo realistic motion capture film format, that is a
first-of-its-kind," Lulla said in a statement.
Looks Not In Fabric Form
Neeta Lulla adds that the team gave a lot of importance to the
sketches. "We created the looks not in fabric form, but a detailed
overview in sketch form," she claims.
8 Months Work On Characterisations
The designer continues, "My creative team and I worked on for
almost eight months on the various characterisations of Rajini sir
and the other supporting cast."
Neeta Lulla ends on a note that it was a different kind of
design experience altogether.
