Rajinikanth's Kochadaiyaan out of Cannes?

By Ramchander

Rajinikanth's prestigious project Kochadaiyaan created a lot of buzz when it was revealed that the trailer of the film would be released at the 66th Cannes Film Festival. It was said that the makers of the film were planning to publicise the film at the international level. But now it is believed that they have changed their plans and the trailer is unlikely to release at the ongoing film festival.

"It's a big moment in the history of Indian cinema. Rajiniji is as excited as a child about the way Kochadaiyaan has turned out. Technique-wise it takes Indian cinema to another level altogether. Rajiniji has shown the rough cut of the film to his close friends. The other day AR Rahman saw the rough cut and was blown away," the film's co-producer Dr Murli Manohar had announced in April about their plans.

He had also claimed, "He is adamant on going. He has become extremely frail. But whenever anyone mentions his delicate health to Rajiniji, he gives the example of Mr Bachchan who has braved the most serious illnesses and done exactly what he wanted and gone exactly where he wanted in his career."

However, now it appears like the plans of launching the trailer has been shelved. It appears to be true as neither the director nor any member of the film is opening up on their plans.

Soundarya Ashin tweeted, "Hey guys ..Trailer shaping out well. Working on more surprises...All efforts are going in to release it asap .Will keep u posted !!" It has to be noted that the director has not mentioned about the trailer being released in Cannes which has paved for this rumour.

Last but not least, Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone, who has played female lead in Kochadaiyaan, has also not opened up about her visit to Cannes. While actresses, who are attending the film festival, are publicising their visit, the actress has not spoken about it. So, rumour mills are sure that the plans of trailer release have been shelved.

On the other end, Oscar Award winner AR Rahman, who managed to have a glimpse of one of the songs from Kochadaiyaan, has praised the film.

He took to Twitter to express his feelings, "(I) had a sneak preview of Rajini sir's motion capture results for one of the songs from Kochadaiyaan. (It) looks like animation on steroids! Epic." And Soundarya was quick to respond for his praise, as she replied back, "Thank you sir."

Meanwhile, the makers of the film are doing their best to complete the film at the earliest. The film will be screened to Kamal Hassan before getting released. The Kochadaiyaan team wants to take the Universal Star's inputs.
