The
friendship
of
two
iconic
stars
of
Tamil
film
industry,
Rajinikanth
and
Kamal
Hassan,
is
well-known,
yet
they
have
been
asked
about
it
time
and
again.
The
duo
has
often
admitted
that
they
are
like
siblings
but
are
good
competitors.
In
spite
of
being
competitors,
Rajinikanth
and
Kamal
Hassan
never
got
into
fights,
like
we
see
among
Bollywood
stars,
nor
they
felt
threatened
as
they
know
their
strengths
and
weakness.
They
maintained
a
healthy
competition
and
respected
each
other's
work.
It
is
interesting
to
know
that
the
actors,
who
started
their
career
together
during
the
same
time,
acted
in
many
films
before
getting
separated
for
commercial
reasons.
However,
once
again
on
a
leading
national
news
channel,
Kamal
Hassan,
who
is
gearing
up
for
the
release
of
his
prestigious
multilingual
project
Vishwaroopam,
was
asked
about
his
friendship
with
superstar
Rajinikanth
for
which
the
Ulaganayagan
said
that
they
have
thought
to
live
in
harmony
but
they
are
stiff
competitors.
Kamal
Hassan
said,
"What
I
say
is
that
we
have
been
thought
to
look
in
unison
and
we
are
like
a
3D
camera.
We
have
been
trained
by
K
Balachander.
Fortunately,
we
are
very
stiff
competitors
but
have
stayed
brothers.
It
is
because
we
carved
out
our
own
domains."

Rajini
And
Kamal
He
added,
"We
were
made
to
act
together
in
many
films.
In
fact,
we
have
done
13
films
together
but
we
realised
that
filmmakers
were
splitting
up
our
remuneration
and
giving
it
to
us."
Rajini
And
Kamal
"Then
we
said
to
ourselves
that
look
if
we
go
separate,
we
can
each
earn
the
amount
that
they
pay
each
of
us.
Producers
were
fooling
us.
So,
we
decided
to
go
out
and
announce
it," Kamal
continues.
Rajini
And
Kamal
He
further
added,
"They
were
all
scared
and
one
producer,
who
had
signed
us,
asked
us,
'What
do
I
do'.
We
thought
about
it
and
we
made
two
separate
films
for
him."
Rajini
And
Kamal
He
concludes,
"The
producer
got
a
double
whammy,
as
we
made
two
separate
films
(Aravandu
16
and
Kalyanaraman)
for
him.
Both
of
them
became
hits
and
the
producer
and
I
have
been
lived
to
tell
the
story."
