There have been lots of reports on Bollywood actor Salman Khan featuring in the remake of successful Tamil movie Kanchana. Now, we have a clear picture on it as Ajay Devgn will be starring in the film. The remake rights has been purchased by actor Tusshar Kapoor, who is turning producer with this movie.
The Hindi version of Kanchana will be directed by Raghava Lawrence himself. Currently, Tusshar Kapoor has hired writers to develop the screenplay to suit the tastes of Hindi audience. The news has been confirmed by Tusshar, but he has not cleared whether Ajay Devgn will play the main lead role or the role played by Sarath Kumar in the original.
It is believed that Tusshar Kapoor will play the role played by Raghava Lawrence, and Ajay Devgn is likely to play the role of a transgender.
The movie will take off in August 2014. The team is finalising other cast and crew along with the director.
Kanchana was directed and starred by Raghava Lawrence himself. Lakshmi Rai had played the female lead role. It was a sequel to successful movie Muni. The film has already been made in Kannada and has been a hit.
