Will Samantha be lucky this time to romance Vijay?

If we are to mention one actor in the present lot who has missed out to grab big offers, we don't need any option to point out at Samantha, as she has let down a few biggies in the recent years. The actress has at least turned down three offers in Tamil film industry for some reasons. Mani Ratnam's Kadal, Shankar's I and Vijay's forthcoming Thalaivaa are the movies, which fell from her laps. Well, as she had genuine reason and turned out to be an actress, who brings luck to her films, the 26-year-old has continued to bag films starring top actors.

Now, yet another biggie is knocking her door for her approval. Yes, Samantha has been approached for Illayathalapathy Vijay's next film. Director AR Murugadoss has reportedly offered her the movie. The filmmaker had earlier approached Deepika Padukone, but the Bollywood diva turned down the film citing her other commitments. Well, it is unclear whether Samantha has given her consent or still considering the offer as she has a few movies in her kitty. AR Murugadoss and Vijay had earlier worked together in a sensational hit Thuppakki. The director confirmed the news of the duo joining hands again a few months ago.

The filmmaker had claimed that it would not be a sequel to Thuppakki. The proposed project will be an entirely fresh subject.

Apparently, it is said that the film was first offered to Ajith Kumar, but Thala, who had given signal to it, could not allot the dates in the current year.

Reports say that the movie will take off in January 2014. As far as the technical team in concerned, AR Murugadoss has signed 'Kolaveri di' hitmaker Anirudh Ravichander.
