Taapsee Pannu has struck a gold in her debut Hindi film Chashmee Baddoor. The actress has garnered positive reviews from various quarters, including general Hindi audience. With this development, the actress, who is often seen playing second fiddle in South films, is likely to get a promotion to the next level and may be she is not far away from registering her name in the A-list actresses group.
On the other end, Tamanna Bhatia, who tried her luck in Bollywood film Himmatwala, which was released just a week before Taapsee's film hit the screens, has failed to make an impact. It has to be noted that Tamanna's role was much bigger than the Aadukalam girl's role. Yet she could not impress Hindi audience. This has led many to debate on what went wrong for the Paiyaa girl.
We have tried to review why Tamanna Bhatia failed to impress audience. Follow the slideshow to know...
Wrong Choice Of Project
Firstly, the choice of the project has to be blamed. Tamanna Bhatia's decision to star in the remake film proved to be wrong because her performance was compared with Sridevi. Obviously, people could not see Tamanna in the famous role, who failed to impress. Though many felt that she looked decent in the film, people could not appreciate a new face. The underlining point of the story is that Sridevi had done challenging roles before taking up this offer but in case of Tamanna, she has not done any such character.
Poor Promotional Skills
Tamanna Bhatia, though got good publicity through trailers and teasers, was not promoting her film to the large extent. She might have appeared for a few film events but her strong presence at all the functions related to Himmatwala would have been prosperous for her. It may be because the actress was busy with her other committed projects. On the other end, Taapsee, from the day one, spent more time on promoting even at the cost of a few regional projects.
Film Failed Badly
Himmatwala, from the moment it was released, garnered negative feedbacks from critics and audience. Had the film got good reviews and been successful at the Box Office, who knows, a lot of offers could have come Tamanna's way.
Nonetheless, Tamanna Bhatia has one more chance to prove her mettle as she has Akshay Kumar's film in her kitty. Like Himmatwala, the forthcoming film is also a big film and she has got a golden opportunity to make her mark in Hindi for the third time. If she fails again, may be, she could take lessons from Trisha, who completely shifted to her strong South base after her debut Hindi film miserably failed.
Her Future Projects
Tamanna Bhatia will be soon returning to Tamil films with Siruthai Siva's untitled project starring Ajith Kumar. She has not signed any South film apart from the Thala's flick.
