Chandra Prakash Jain has claimed that Vijay understands the pain of a producer more than any actor. The actor thoroughly knows what goes into the project and he is conscious of the money. More importantly, Illayathalapathy does not like to waste money on his films.

Recalling an incident, Chandra Prakash Jain said that when the team decided to sit back in Australia when they couldn't get permission to shoot some portion of Thalaivaa and were asked to wait for some more days, Vijay told the producer return to India than staying there.

"I still remember we couldn't get permission to shoot in some part of Australia and were asked to wait for few days. I told the team to sit back and unwind before we could resume shooting. Vijay sir called and told me that everybody should go back to India instead of wasting money. He agreed to stay back because I insisted," a daily quotes the producer as saying.
