Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan seems to have struck gold at Tamil Nadu Box Office with his much-hyped Dhoom 3 getting unbelievable response from the local audience. The Hindi movie has been overwhelmingly welcomed by the cine goers here. As a result, it has probably registered one of the best collections for a Bollywood movie in the state.
Dhoom 3 was released with a huge hype on Friday (December 20). In Tamil Nadu, the Aamir Khan's film was released in Tamil as well as Hindi versions. Surprisingly, both the versions had its own audience and this kept the cash registers ringing at the Box Office. Cutting across the language barriers, people from different age groups watched and enjoyed the action-thriller flick.
An observer at a leading multiplex said, "How often we see a Hindi movie getting such a response in Tamil Nadu? Especially, an Aamir Khan film getting such a thunderous response has stunned the money bags behind the flick." Though the exact figure of the collection in Tamil Nadu is unknown at this stage, traders confidently says that Dhoom 3 has undoubtedly made record-breaking collection on the release day. The massive response for Dhoom 3 will remain same this weekend in Chennai as the tickets for the next two days are completely sold.
The response has made the bosses of distributor Sathyam Cinemas happy and they hope that the collection will be stable for the next one week.
Record Breaking Collection
The early reports say that Dhoom 3, which also features Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra in the lead roles, could have made above Rs 30 crores at the Bollywood Box Office.
