A source reveals that Vijay and Nesan were bowled over by beautiful locations of Osaka, Japan. They were impressed by ancient sculptures and monuments that had an old charm. But when they landed in Osaka and planned to start the shooting, the authorities didn't give permission. As there was a tension in the city due to the earthquake scare and torrential rain, the Jilla team was denied the permission.
The movie bosses were worried because cancellation or the postponement of the shoots would turn costly for the producer. Jilla is produced by RB Chaudhary and it also stars Kajal Aggarwal and Mohanlal in the lead roles. The action-thriller has Imman's music and Natarajan Subramaniam's cinematography.

Made under the banner of Super Good Movies, the team is keen to release the movie on January 10. But the date of the release is yet to be officially announced.
