Ilayathalapathy Vijay's birthday celebrations were supposed to begin on Saturday (June 8), but bad weather in the city played the spoilsport. The actor will celebrate his 39th birthday on June 22 and this year, the fans clubs of the Velayudham star had planned to kick-start the celebration very early.
Members from Vijay's fan club had planned to carry out charitable activities such as distribution of computers, sewing machines and wheelchairs to the differently-abled and underprivileged members of different human welfare groups.
Confirming the news, a member from Vijay's fan club said in the statement, "It was all planned, but due to frequent rains in the city over the last few days, we decided to call off the celebrations. It was supposed to be a grand event with large participation."

Fresh Date Yet To Be Announced
About 4,000 people were supposed to attend it from weaker sections of the society. However, a fresh date for the celebrations will be announced soon.
It was said that tree saplings will be given to all the people who would attend the event as a mark of respect to the environment. Justice Jothimani will be the guest and will distribute saplings to create awareness on afforestation.
As per the reports, Vijay is expected to donate a huge amount this year. Reports add that the fans club will be donating Rs 1 crore for the charitable cause.
Thalaivaa Wrapped Up
Meanwhile, Vijay has completed the shooting of his forthcoming Tamil movie Thalaivaa. The audio of the film is expected to be launched a day before his birthday as the actor will be busy with charity works on June 22.
Vijay is currently busy with Jilla. The film is directed by Nesan and it also features Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Kajal Aggarwal, Prakash Raj, Mahat Raghavendra, VTV Ganesh and others in the cast.
