Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer Thalaivaa released worldwide, except in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, last week. Now the producer Chandra Prakash Jain has requested the intervention of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha to help the film's release in these two places.
Sources said that the actor Vijay will be fasting to divert the Tamil Nadu government attention to sort out the issue on Thalaivaa's release. It's been a week that the movie released across the world expect in Tamil Nadu. It is also said Vijay's fasting will continue for two more days. The actor has sought an appointment with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, to sort out the issue.
Director AL Vijay and producer Chandraprakash Jain has seeked Chennai City Commissioner permission for actor Vijay fasting on the Thalaivaa's release issue.
Talking about the release Thalaivaa producer Chnadraprakash Jain said, "We have sought an appointment with the Chief Minister of the state. We are waiting to meet her and discuss the issue in detail. I have already incurred huge loss due to the delay. A further delay means heavy losses."
Two days before its scheduled release on Aug 9, Thalaivaa was stalled from being released when a political outfit issued bomb threats to theatre owners.
Sources said that the theatre owners from Chennai had said that they have booked their theaters for other movies this week, and it is impossible for them to release Thalaivaa. So, the movie is likely to release next week, on August 23.
