Vijay's Thalaivaa is remake of Telugu Leader?

The title of Vijay's next film has raked in a huge response from his fans all across the globe. The name, Thalaivaa with the tagline 'Time to Lead' not only has mass appeal but also raises hope on his political entry.

It was officially announced for the Pongal along with this, some of the posters of the film were also released. The first look is well-designed and Vijay will be seen waving his hands towards public. The official press release read, "Vijay's new Tamil film has been titled Thalaivaa. Director AL Vijay, Vijay and the producer have unanimously zeroed in on the title," said a statement from the production house.

However, there are rumours that Thalaivaa is a remake of Telugu hit film Leader starring Rana Daggubati. The original version was a political-thriller directed by Sekhar Kammula. It is believed that the Tamil film could boost Vijay's political plans.

The first schedule of the shooting has been completed, that includes two songs and three fights shots in Mumbai and second is expected to start in Spain. The film was launched in December and the movie is likely to hit screens in May 2013. Amala Paul, Sathyaraj, Santhanam, Suresh, Mano Bala, Abhimanyu and others are in the cast in the film produced by Chandra Prakash Jain.
