61st National Awards: Thanga Meengal Wins Multiple Awards

The 61st National Awards have been announced in New Delhi today (April 16). Ram's Thanga Meengal has won multiple awards this year and has made Tamil film industry proud.

Thanga Meengal won awards in categories like Best Child Artiste (Sadhana), Best Tamil Film and Best Lyrics for Na Muthu Kumar. Late Balu Mahendra's Thalaimuraigai won Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration and Sabu Joseph VJ won the Best Editing award for Vallinam. Tamil film won six awards in total this year.

What The Winners Will Get?

Sabu Joseph VJ for his best editing will get Rajal Kamal along with a cash prize of Rs. 50 thousand.

Na. Muthukumar for penning best lyrics will get Rajat Kamal with a cash prize of Rs 50 thousand.

Thanga Meengal director and producer will get 1 lakh each and Rajat Kamal.

The government will honour all the winners on May 3 in New Delhi.
