It was Mani Ratnam, who had introduced her to film industry. The maverick filmmaker had launched her in Tamil movie Iruvar way back in 1997. The film became a perfect platform for her to showcase her acting skills and the flick had won good appreciation from various quarters. This, indeed, had helped her to get good offers in Bollywood.

Now, once again, she is ready to impress Tamil audience, as she has reportedly given her consent to act in Mani Ratnam's untitled next movie.
Mani Ratnam's men had met last month and offered her the film. She is excited about the project and given green signal to the project.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will be seen alongside Telugu superstars Nagarjuna and Mahesh Babu. The film will also star Shruti Hassan in the key role.
