Ajith Kumar was seen in urban-based roles in his last few movies. The actor had impressed audience with stylish costumes and colourful outfits. But in his latest movie Veeram, the actor will be seen in rural-based character.

Director Siva, who met the press earlier today(January 2), has revealed that the rural-based look of Ajith Kumar will be liked by his fans. "It has been a long time since we saw Ajith in a complete rural avatar. I'm sure this will be one of the biggest highlights of the film. His transformation from an urban character to rural one is commendable and it will be evident in Veeram," he said.

The director says that the Thala was keen on taking up rural-based project, as he has not done one in recent years. "It was Ajith who wanted me to do a rural commercial entertainer for him and not the other way around. I never forced him to work in a rural pot-boiler. We worked hard for 110 days and we are extremely happy with the final product," Siva told reporters.

Meanwhile, the Veeram team is getting ready for the release on January 10. The film also features Tamanna Bhatia, Nassar, Santhanam, Ramesh Khanna, Pradeep Rawat, Vidyullekha Raman and others in the cast.
