Illayaraja's Fan Club To Get 1 Crore Registered Members

Illayaraja's fan club will be officially launched on April 5. The organisation is expecting to have over 10 million registered members including many singers, music directors etc.

Velusamy, the managing director of the fan club, has said that Karthik Raja, the elder son of the music director, will be the chairman. The purpose of the organsiaton is to bring fans of the Music Maestro from different age groups under one roof.

They are expecting more than a crore people to join the organsiaton as members. "Hundreds of singers and composers will also enroll themselves in the club. Illayaraja has been an inspiration for an entire generation of musicians. Another important intention of the club is to give back to the society which has given the maestro fame, wealth and goodwill," Velusamy told the IANS.

The fans club is not just planning to celebrate the achivements of Illayaraja but to carry out various social activities throughout Tamil Nadu. "Illayaraja is already constructing schools for the poor in small villages. We plan to carry out such good social initiatives for the public. Post-inception, we will chalk out an agenda and work accordingly," Velusamy added.

The organsiaton is expecting a huge turn out for the launch on April 5.
