Kaaviya
Thalaivan
has
managed
to
create
some
serious
expectations
as
not
many
movies
that
has
historical
fiction
as
its
genre
gets
released
in
an
age
of
science
fiction
and
thrillers.
Director
Vasanthabalan
has
decided
to
take
a
bold
initiative
by
trying
out
something
different
to
provide
a
whole
new
experience
for
today's
movie
mongers.
The
movie
will
be
released
this
Friday
letting
everybody
know
what
it
has
to
offer.
Fans
also
would
be
expecting
a
few
things
from
the
movie
as
it
is
rare
to
produce
a
movie
like
Kaaviya
Thalaivan
nowadays.
So
what
exactly
one
would
expect
from
this
Vasanthabalan's
alleged
masterpiece?
Well
it
turns
out
that
the
movie
might
have
much
more
than
good
songs
and
a
great
background
music
by
AR
Rahman.
The
film
which
is
set
in
the
early
20th
century
is
said
to
be
about
two
theatre
artistes
who
also
happen
to
be
good
friends.
When
competition
between
two
good
friends
from
the
same
profession
becomes
unhealthy,
things
could
end
up
in
a
pretty
bad
shape
and
this
historical
period
drama
is
said
to
be
the
journey
of
two
such
friends.
Another
interesting
feature
this
film
will
have
is
the
characterization
of
Vedhicka
which
is
said
to
be
inspired
by
the
legendary
stage/film
artist
and
singer
KB
Sundarambal.
What
makes
it
interesting
is
that
KB
Sundarambal's
life
history
as
a
young
woman
especially
her
love
life
has
not
taken
center
stage
so
far
and
this
movie
could
dig
up
most
interesting
facts
from
the
past
and
showcase
it
publicly.
The
film
is
also
expected
to
be
one
of
the
finest
which
depicts
the
actual
lives
of
drama
artistes
from
an
era
in
which
drama
and
its
artistes
were
given
prime
importance.
The
reason
behind
this
is
the
director
has
taken
references
from
various
books
including
the
autobiography
of
the
most
respected
theatre
artiste
Avvai
Shanmugam
which
is
titled
as
'Enathu
Naadaga
Vazhkai'
which
was
suggested
to
him
by
a
famous
writer
Jeyamohan.
Also,
he
has
spent
over
12
months
doing
just
researches
on
veteran
theatre
artistes
and
their
whereabouts
from
existing
theatre
clubs
from
Madurai,
Dindigul,
Karur
and
Pudukottai.
Since
the
film
will
showcase
the
lives
of
theatre
artistes,
all
the
actors
will
be
reportedly
seen
in
20
to
25
different
looks
to
get
the
feel
of
their
characters.
This
interesting
information
was
revealed
by
the
lead
pair
of
the
movie.
Also
a
song
which
is
sung
by
yesteryear
singer
Vani
Jairam
will
be
one
of
the
highlights
as
it
will
be
supported
by
a
special
dance
performance
by
Vedhicka
which
is
choreographed
by
late
choreographer
Raghuram.
Apart
from
the
director,
music
composer
AR
Rahman
was
also
seen
in
a
research
mode
for
six
months
as
he
wanted
to
relate
the
songs
with
early
1920's.
The
film
will
have
7
songs
and
14
bit
songs
which
also
will
form
the
score
of
the
movie.
The
songs
have
already
received
positive
reviews
and
was
seen
in
the
top
10
list
of
iTunes
India.
Overall,
Kaaviya
Thalaivan
is
all
set
to
be
a
treat
for
fans
who
would
like
to
relive
the
glorious
days
of
theatrical
works.
For
those
who
have
not
seen
live
drama
and
who
have
no
idea
about
the
pride
a
stage
play
can
carry,
this
movie
will
be
a
whole
new
experience.
It
is
also
worth
mentioning
that
AR
Rahman's
orchestration
will
mesmerize
all
music
lovers
irrespective
of
the
genre
of
this
movie.
The
movie
has
also
managed
to
catch
the
eyes
of
movie
goers
in
USA
as
it
will
be
released
in
37
screens
which
is
the
highest
so
far
for
a
Siddharth
starrer.
