The 40th birthday celebration of Vijay has kick-started as the welfare activities conducted by the Illayathapathy has taken off on Sunday (June 8). The social event was held in ECR Chennai which was graced by the actor's wife Sangeetha too.

Vijay is celebrating his 40 birthday on June 22. On Sunday, the actor's association organised the event to distribute free gifts for the people, who are below poverty line. His fans clubs had made the list and organsied the event.
