But so far, neither the actress nor the director has given clarification on the same. Now, the latest buzz is that she has opted out of the project due to her pregnancy with the second child.

Rumour are rife in cine circle that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was interested to work with Mani Ratnam. Indeed, they have a few rounds of discussion. But now it appears like she has turned down the offer due to her pregnancy.

Mani Ratnam had introduced Aishwarya Rai to films with his Tamil movie Iruvar in 1997. It had earned her a good name and eventually got good offers from Bollywood. Later, she was seen in Kollywood flicks like Shankar's Jeans, Ajith Kumar starrer Kandukondain Kandukondain, Raavanan, Endhiran etc.
