The battle ground is ready for the Lok Sabha elections as Tamil Nadu (TN) is going for polls today (April 24). In the state, as we all know, politics and cinema go hand in hand. Many faces from cinema have actively involved in politics and Chief Minister M Jayalalitha and the DMK Chief M Karnunanidhi are examples of it. As the people get ready to cast their precious votes, we would like to underline the significance of two separate meetings of Narendra Modi with Rajinikanth and Vijay.
Stars Rajinikanth and Vijay have a history of taking politicial stands. They have often tried to use their popularity to influence people in the decision making process. In 1995, the Tamil superstar, for the first time, made a politicial statement by openly asking people to vote for the Congree. Later, he shifted his loyalities to the DMK. Whereas, Vijay worked for the ruling AIADMK during the last general assembly elections.
Rajinikanth has always wanted to enter politics. Many parties in the past had tried to get him into the politics. But he delayed for one or the other reason. There has often been rumours related to his political entry. But in the last several years, he has stayed away from politics. Recently, he announced that he has given up on his politicial aspirations.
