Ajith Kumar's films seem to be in huge demand. The success of his last two films attracted Hindi filmmakers and there was a huge competition to buy the remake rights of his recent flicks. His Arrambam and this year's Veeram are the two flicks, which, apparently, is ready to go to B-Town. Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar are reportedly starring in the remakes.
Though Veeram released this year, the demand was huge for the remake rights of the film. It is mainly because of the content. Hindi audience love commercial entertainers. A good storyline, masala elements backed with action often impressed Bollywood cine goers. And the Ajith Kumar's flick appeared like a tailor-made film for commercial superstars.
Soon after the release, many showed interest towards remaking it in Hindi. Director Siva himself said that while the film was being dubbed in Telugu, it would be remade in Hindi and Kannada. According to reports, a leading producer has acquired the rights of Veeram and has got green signal from Salman Khan to star in the flick.
The buzz says that Salman Khan will be romancing Jacqueline Fernandez in the Veeram remake. And his siblings Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan will be reprising the role of his brothers in the forthcoming flick. Continue reading the story on the slideshow...
Veeram, A Tailor Made Flick For Sallu
It is said that Salman Khan felt that the story could perfectly go well with his image. Hence, he approved the project.
It is not the first time where Salman Khan is starring in the South remake. In the recent years, he had acted in Wanted (Pokkiri), Ready (Telugu film with same name), Bodyguard (Kaavalan in Tamil) and Jai Ho (Stalin).
There are reports that Siruthai Siva, who directed the original version, will be directing the remake too. We may recall his statement, which claimed that he wants to helm the project in Bollywood.
Coming back to Arrambam, after a lot of negotiation, the deal has been finally sealed. Akshay Kumar has given a nod to star in the action thriller.
Why Akshay Accepted?
Action thrillers in the recent years have worked well for Akshay Kumar. So, he showed interest towards Arrambam remake. Currently, he is busy with Holiday, a remake of Tamil superhit film Thuppakki, directed by our own AR Murugadoss.
Veeram is one of the big hits in Tamil this year. Tamanna Bhatia, Santhanam, Sohail, Vidharth, Manish and others were in the cast. The film is produced by Vijaya Productions.
Arrambam was directed by Vishnuvardhan. Nayantara had played the female lead role in the flick, which also featured Arya and Taapsee Pannu in the key roles. It is about an honest cop's revenge seeking story against the people, who were involved in the death of his close friend played by Rana Daggubati.
