Soundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth has won the NDTV Indian Award for implementing technical innovations in Indian Cinema. The director's much awaited movie Kochadaiyaan starring her father Rajinikanth is all set to hit screen next week, May 9, 2014.

Kochadaiyaan is the computer animated multilingual lingual period film, which is mainly made Tamil language. Soundarya is making her debut as a director with the film, which is also considered as the first Indian film to be made using the technical advancement.

Soundarya also had a pleasant surprise, when the organisers played the video of her father Rajinikanth congratulating her for the award. "I have seen the film and told Soundarya that I'm proud of you. Definitely, our nation will be proud of you," said Rajinikanth in the video, which was played in the Award function. Rajini will be seen in the dual role in Kochadaiyaan, which also has Shobana, Deepika Padukone, Sarathkumar, Jackie Shroff and others in the key roles.
