They get separated to meet again when Jyothi becomes a widow after marrying a boy selected by her mother. Kamal Hassan - Guna

If Puthukavithai was for Rajinikanth, Guna was for Kamal Hassan. The Universal Star's film, which did not perform to expected level at Box Office, is considered as one of the best movies of him by audience.

The story is about a mentally ill man's true love. Roshini, Rekha, SP Balasubramaniam, Girish Karnad, Ajay Rathnam, Janagaraj and Sharat Saxena were in the cast. The film was directed by Santhana Bharathi and produced by Alamelu Subramaniam.

Vijay - Kadhalukku Mariyadhai

Vijay and Shalini's Kadhalukku Mariyadhai became their biggest hits of their careers. The movie was a remake of Malayalam movie Aniathipravu.

Kadhalukku Mariyadhai had received well by critics and audience. Indeed, Vijay fans consider this as a classic.

Ajith Kumar - Kadhal Kottai

Kadhal Kottai was a welcome change for Tamil audience as the story of Ajith Kumar and Devayani starrer film had a unique kind of story back then. The lead stars falling in love without seeing each other had given a different kind of experience to the Kollywood cine goers.

Simbu - Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya

Silambarasan and Trisha Krishnan starrer Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya defined the modern-day love. A Hindu boy falls in love with a Syrian Christian Malayali girl played by Trisha, who is elder to him. She accepts him after initial hesitation, but they are forced to part ways. The way Gautham Menon has captured their emotions make the film a wonderful watch.

Jeeva - Neethaane En Ponvasantham

Jeeva and Samantha starrer Neethaane En Ponvasantham was a breezy romantic entertainer directed by Gautham Menon. The director has described the love between the lead stars in three stages.
