Long-awaited wish of Illayathalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar's fans is finally coming true as they are acting together again! The maverick filmmaker Shankar is bringing them together onscreen. Yes, the big names are collaborating for an action thriller produced by Aascar Ravichandran and it is simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu.
It is not just a rumour, but director Shankar himself has revealed the news. The director has said that the talks are on and the project is likely to take off during Diwali. "After completing Ai with Vikram, I will move on to a multi-starrer project. The two names that I have finalised are Illayathalapathy and Thala," Shankar proudly announces.
"Like millions of their fans, I am fascinated to cast them in a movie. And when I finalised my script, I was sure that it would be perfect cast if Vijay and Ajith gave nod to the project," Shankar adds. He also says that he has met them recently and opened up on the idea. "I have offered the film to them. Shankar continues, "But they were concerned about the budget and date issues. However, I told them not to worry about those aspects as I will take the entire responsibility of it."
Shankar's Mega-Budget Film
Shankar adds, "Aascar Ravichandran has told me that he will produce the mega-budget film. The film will take off during Diwali. But the shooting will start after Pongal."
Vijay-Ajith In Never-Before Roles
Shankar refused to reveal about the storyline, but said that they actors will be seen in never-before avatars.
Our sources say that Vijay will be seen in the role of a cop and a goodie. Whereas, Ajith Kumar will be seen in the character of a villain. The script has a lot of surprises that make audience to predict who is good and who is bad in the film.
Ajith Kumar and Vijay had earlier worked together in Rajavin Parvaiyile in 1995.
AR Rahman will be composing the music and some of the big names from Hollywood are working in the project.
Santosh Sivan is likely to helm the cinematography department. Director Shankar has asked him to keep himself free for Pongal.
