The first name that comes to one's mind is Vijay. It is simply because of his ability to reach every nook and corner of the state. Like Rajinikanth, he is simple and engages himself in social service. By doing it, not only he has become a hero on-screen but in real life too. His fans base in huge and comprises of mass and class audience. His movies cuts across language barriers and are being watched by non-Tamil audience. He is one of the strong contenders to be the next superstar.
Ajith Kumar had once made the statement that the place of superstar will be replaced by him someday. Leaving his statement aside, Rajinikanth's fans love Ajith movies too. Indeed, many even say that the qualities of Thalaivar and Thala are almost same. His proximity with Rajini also works in favour of him. He too involves in social activities and has good chances to become the next superstar.
Surya is not in the league of Vijay and Ajith Kumar. But he continues to match them in terms of commercial and critical success through his movies. Indeed, he is the one actor in the recent years, who has consistently delivered hits one after the other. The actor not only has good market in Tamil Nadu but also in Andhra Pradesh. He has never been in the race to be the number one actor yet industry consideres him as a serious contender. His public image is good and he does social activities through his Agaram Foundation.
Vikram is a very hardworking actor in Kollywood. He puts in lots of energy and invest time on his roles. The actor is not just restricted to commercial movies and he does his work with passion. If you take the commercial success of Vijay, Ajith Kumar and Surya, Chiyaan is nowhere near to them. But if he decides to do only commercial movies aimed at numer one position, he could easily throw his hat in the ring even today and there are chances of him emerging victorious.
Many of Rajinikanth fans want to see Dhanush occupying the superstar's position owing his family connection. Whether the actor accepts it or not, there are people in the industry, who thinks that he has chances. He is young and doesn't feature in the league of Vijay and Ajith. At least, there is 10 years gap between them and Dhanush. So, if the 'Kolaver di' hitmaker has good 10 years from now, he could easily inherit his father-in-law's place.
Simbu is the self-proclaimed fan of Rajinikanth. More than the Thalaivar, he is a big fan of Thala Ajith. He has often expressed his love towards the Mankatha star in public and it appears like he wants to occupy Ajith's position someday. Once he reaches there, it is obvious that his next target will be the superstar's position.
Karthi is not in the race but many believe that he is a superstar material. With his ability to act in different genres and win good fan following, he has the chance someday to be the next superstar.
At this stage, nobody would even try to imagine that Arya could someday be the next superstar. But this man has got talent and hardwork. So, lets not write him off.
Jeeva's career graph is slowly rising and he has been delivering decent hits in regular intervals. Like Arya, people won't try to imagine him as the next superstar. But he has the dedication and wants to give 100 percent always. All he needs is luck.
