Thala Ajith's Yennai Arindhaal has already reached the 100 crore club according to some reports. After a terrific four day opening in Tamil Nadu and foreign countries, Yennai Arindhaal faced its acid test this week as it entered the second week at the box office.
Yennai Arindhaal ran to packed houses in most theatres in Chennai even in weekdays. On its fifth day(Monday) Yennai Arindhaal has reportedly collected 7.2 crore rupees in Tamil Nadu.
Collections on the sixth day(Tuesday) were steady throughout the state. However, it did not match up to the fifth day's collection as the total gross on Tuesday were 6.7 crore rupees from Tamil Nadu alone. On its seventh day(Wednesday), collections in Tamil Nadu is said to be around 6.5 crores(approx).
According to ATMUS Entertainment, which released Yennai Arindhaal in the USA, the Ajith starrer has entered the second week with 23-25 screens. The overall collections there stands at an impressive 490,000 USD. It is expected that the movie will enter the respected 500,000 USD mark by the end of this week.
After completing eight days run at the box office worldwide, it is speculated that Yennai Arindhaal has collected a total of 57.85 crores in Tamil Nadu. While the reports say the movie has collected 6.25 crores in Kerala and 7.35 crores in Karnataka, it also says the Ajith starrer has collected 4.45 crores from rest of India and 25 crores from overseas box office. So the total collections of Yennai Arindhaal is estimated to be around 100.9 crore rupees(approx).
To round things off, Yennai Arindhaal has done excellent business so far in its second week all over the world. With Dhanush's Anegan releasing today, it will be interesting to see if the Ajith starrer can pin down its competitor to emerge as a winner in its third week.

With a worldwide gross of 256 crore rupees, Rajinikanth's Enthiran takes the first place as far as the highest grossing movie in Tamil is concerned.
Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam takes the second slot with a total worldwide gross of 220 crore rupees. Directed by Kamal Haasan, it has Kamal and Andrea in prominent roles.
Vikram's I is still running in theatres and has already taken the third place with a total gross of 202.95 crore rupees. This movie has every chance of taking the second or even the first slot.
Dasavathaaram's worldwide gross stands exactly at 200 crore rupees. It also became the first Tamil movie to touch the 200 crore mark.
Vijay's Thuppakki has collected 180 crore rupees. Directed by AR Murugadoss, it became the first Vijay movie to cross the 100 crore mark.
Lingaa's total worldwide gross stands at 148.75 crore rupees. Lingaa managed to do extremely well at the box office despite opening to mixed reviews.
Thala Ajith's Arrambam takes the seventh position with a total gross of 135 crore rupees. Directed by Vishnuvardhan, Arrambam has Ajith, Arya and Nayantara in key roles.
With a worldwide gross of 130 crore rupees, Mankatha takes the eighth spot. It portrayed Ajith in a negative role and has Arjun Sarja in an important role.
There is no slot for the ninth position as Veeram too collected 130 crore rupees as per the worldwide box office data.
The tenth slot is yet again taken by Rajinikanth as Sivaji's worldwide gross is estimated to be 128 crore rupees.
