As we welcome the third week of March, it is time for us to take a moment to look back at the previous week as many interesting events unfolded within Kollywood fraternity from 9th of March to 15th of March.
The second week of this month started on a colorful note as Dhanush and Anirudh took centre stage by dancing their way into headlines. The actor-musician combo will be seen shaking a leg together in Dhanush's upcoming film Maari, directed by Balaji Mohan.
Amy Jackson, the new enchantress of Tamil cinema, almost got rid of the deadly H1NI virus with her scorching hot looks as she featured in the Maxim magazine. This was definitely the most blistering highlight of the past week.
But the news that defined Kollywood last week, came from the Producers' Council when they brought in a new rule which said all big budget movies has to be released only on 10 important days. The new rule had its supporters and detractors.
Last week also saw the most prominent assurance. Assurance from cinematographer Natty, who said Ilayathalapathy Vijay's Puli will keep its audience hooked to the movie as it is full of twists and turns. He also went on to say, the film will be a huge success, according to a report.

If rumours about Superstar Rajinikanth's next film emerged throughout February, last week saw yet another piece of information doing rounds quite vigorously. The big news was that Rajinikanth's next might be directed by AR Murugadoss. However, there were no official confirmation on the same.
The Most Important Announcement
The much awaited announcement was finally made last week. Yes, Kamal Haasan's Uttama Villain got an official release date and it is said that the film will be released on the 10th of April.

Sensational star Sunny Leone, who made her appearance in the Tamil film Vadacurry, confessed that she is a huge fan of Superstar Rajinikanth and has watched most of his Tamil films with subtitles.
Vaalu Got A Clean 'U'
Surprisingly, a simbu film got a clean U last week. With Vaalu all set to release on 27th this month, the censor board gave the film a clean chit much to the relief of Simbu and company.
Mother Of All Speculations
Another speculation that ruled last week was the possibility of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan joining hands for the Tamil remake of PK. It was said that Kamal would play the role of an alien while Rajini will essay the role of Sanjay Dutt in the original.
OK Kanmani Audio Launch
OK Kanmani's audio launch is an event which carries a lot of expectations. Fans are eagerly waiting to listen to the songs of this Mani Ratnam film and the big announcement came last week. Sony Music in its social media page had revealed that the audio launch will happen on 30th of March.
Ajith On Top
Last week saw Thala Ajith winning an online poll. The poll was conducted by a North Indian website and asked its users to vote for the celebrity who looks stunning in salt and pepper look. Ajith won the poll convincingly by attracting 75% of the total votes.
Trisha Over Kajal
Trisha replaced Kajal Aggarwal in the Tamil remake of the super hit Hindi film Special 26. The film which will be directed by Thiagarajan initially had Kajal opposite Prashanth but all that changed last week.

In an interview last week, actress Anjali announced that she has finally put an end to all her worries and will focus only on cinema going forward. Will she be able to bag prominent roles? The answer lies in the future.
Vishwaroopam 2 Release Date
Just before the end of last week, the big news that caught everyone's attention was pertaining to the release date of Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroopam 2. It was said that the film will most likely hit screens this June.
