#ChennaiRains: Siddharth & Other Actors Turn Real-life Heroes Even As Their Houses Go Under Water

Chennai is flaunting its might with residents helping each other and celebrities taking up on them, the responsibilty of providing their fellow citizens with food and shelter even as continuous rain is battering the city and other parts of Tamil Nadu.

If in case you are reading this from some other part of the world, you might not be aware of the actual situation in Chennai, for not just common man but even some of the influential celebrities are under water, battling hard to survive.

Actor Siddharth had tweeted along with a picture of his flooded house, "House flooded. Moving to the terrace. God save Tamil Nadu. Bathrooms submerged. Water coming out of the drains. I am an affluent actor. This is my house. Imagine rest of TN."

Kalaiyarasan of Madras fame sought help by posting,"I am in Jaferkhanpet.. Almost under water.. #staystrong. Any helpline number or boat numbers .. Need to come out of this place .. Water rising ..Jaferkhanpet.. Ragava reddy colony."

Amidst such a difficult situation, all these film stars are trying their best to help their fellow residents.

While Siddharth and RJ Balaji have taken up the responsibilty of serving food and water to those who are in need, many celebrities including famed theatre owners have kept their properties open in an attempt to accommodate homeless residents of Chennai.

Apart from lending their hands of support, many other celebrities have taken to various social media sites to express their support and prayers to the people of Tamil Nadu.

AR Rahman had tweeted, "Oh god, please keep my Chennai and its people safe from the floods".

Hindi actor Akshay Kumar had posted, "Heartbreaking to hear about the #ChennaiFloods wreaking havoc...hoping tomorrow is a bright and sunny day. Prayers with all those affected."

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia wrote, "It's heartbreaking to see the state of chennai city due to the floods #ChennaiFloods , hope all gets well soon !!!".
